John Chomiak passed away Thursday July 30th. John & his wife Cathie operated Chomiak Charolais near Mundare, AB. John took great pride in his herd and was a strong Charolais enthusiast. A Celebration of Life for John will be held Saturday August 22nd at 1:00 pm at Park Place Funeral Home, 51 Broadway Blvd, Sherwood Park, AB.

Eric Doran, Tweed was elected President of the Ontario Charolais Association at their Annual General Meeting held July 18th in Carp. Ryan Briggs, Oro-Medonte was elected as the 1st Vice-President and Wyatt Burgomaster, Peterborough as the 2nd Vice-President. Ashley Baker, Hastings remains as the Secretary-Treasurer. Chase Airey of HTA Charolais was slapped Champion at the Harding Fair Jackpot Heifer Show in Harding, MB on July 17, 2026 with HTA Wyonna 593N sired by Legacys Hulk Hogan 50J.

Blake Airey won Grand Champion steer at Rivers & District 4-H Beef Club Achievement on July 2nd. Her steer, Pumba, weighed 1575 lbs and was purchased by Redline Transport Ltd, Rivers, MB.

She also won Champion Continuation Pair with HTA Purity 450M, sired by LT Governor 1560 PLD with her calf HTA CYCLONE 617P, sired by HVA River 873L at side and then went on to win Grand Champion Female.
