The Royal Agriculture Winter Fair in Toronto has been cancelled for 2020 due to concerns with COVID-19 pandemic. On June 24th the Board of Directors made this tough decision. This is only the second time in their history that the show has been cancelled. The other time was during World War II. In their press release they stated that together we will get through this, and “Bring the Country to the City” next November 5th-14th, 2021.

Agribition 2020 is Cancelled
The 50th show of Canadian Western Agribition has be postponed to 2021. The decision was made on June 16th by the CWA Board of Directors in light of the travel restrictions and uncertainty around COVID-19. The planning for the 50th show this year included some special events including 12 National Breed Shows. Planning for this anniversary show November 22nd – 27th, 2021 is already underway.
Former BC Breeder Passes
Adolf (Adi) Hollaus AHH Charolais, Langley, British Columbia passed away April 23rd at the age of 84. Adi was predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Eileen, and is survived by his children: Angela, Al, Wayne and Brian. Adolf was very active in the British Columbia Charolais Association events and a tireless promoter of the breed for many decades. He bought his first Charolais female in 1968 and sold the last of the herd a few years ago when he had a stroke and was forced to move to a retirement home. He showed for many years at the Pacific National Exhibition (PNE) in Vancouver winning Champion Female there in 1981 and a son of hers, AHH Stylist 16U was Grand Champion Bull there in 1987. Stylist then sold in the 1988 Bull Power Sale to Spruceville Charolais, Rawe Ranches and Doll Charolais. After the PNE show was discontinued Adolf moved to showing at the Interior Provincal Exhibition (IPE) in Armstrong for over 10 years. There will be a Celebration of Life on Sunday, August 2nd.
