At the end of the National Sale, November 26th at Canadian Western Agribition in Regina the Canadian Charolais Youth Association have a semen auction to raise funds for the National Board. McLeod Livestock wins Pen Show at Farmfair

McLeod Livestock, Cochrane showed the champion pen of three bulls at this year’s Farmfair International pen show in Edmonton, AB. Three full brothers made up the pen. CML Trifecta 516C, CML Exacta 514C and CML Derby 511C, sired by Gerrard Pastor 35Z.

Cay’s,Prairie Cove/Johnson win Farmfair

Prairie Cove Miss 309A, sired by HTA Vegas 134Y along with her calf CAYS Moonshine 11C,sired by TR MR Firewater 5792RET owned by Cay’s Cattle, Kinistino,SK and Prairie Cove Charolais, Bowden was selected Champion Female by Judge Tyson Rasmuson, Midale SK. The Reserve Female was PZC TR Desirae 012, sired by CML Diablo 2X with CML Desirae 558C a CML Distinction 318A daughter at side, owned by McLeod Livestock, Cochrane. The Champion Bull was HRJ Crowd Favourite 515C, sired by Sparrows Kingston 139Y, owned by Johnson Charolais, Barrhead. The Reserve Grand Champion bull was ONL Daddy Cool 4C, a JIL Thunder Roll 67Z son shown by O’Neil Livestock and Daines Cattle, Red Deer County. There were 39 entries in this year’s show.

Johnson Charolais Wins Legends of the Fall

HRJ Crowd Favourite 515C, a January 6th son of Sparrows Kingston 139Y was chosen Champion Bull Calf at this year’s All Breed Legend of the Fall show at Farmfair International in Edmonton, AB. He is owned by Johnson Charolais, Barrhead.

McAvoy/Serhienko win Lloydminster

MVY Tyson 21C, sired by TR PZC Turton 0794ET, owned by McAvoy Charolais, Arelee, SK was selected Grand Champion Female at this year’s Stockade Round-Up, November 5th in Lloydminster. Judge Murray Andrews, Moose Jaw then selected MVY Bo-Peep 5C, by Cedardale Zeal 125Z, from McAvoy Charolais as Reserve Champion Female. Grand Champion Bull was SVY Grizzly 521C, sired by SVY Blitz 125Y, exhibited by Serhienko Cattle Co. Maymont. Reserve Champion Bull was MVY All Shook Up 18C, by MVY All Star 61A, owned by McAvoy Charolais.

Oattes, Rollin Acres/Gold-Bar Win Toronto

CRG Barely Legal 69B, sired by TR PZC Mr Turton 0794 ET, owned by Oattes Charolais, Cobden won Grand Champion Female honours at the 2015 Toronto (ON) Royal Agriculture Winter Fair Charolais Show on Novermber 6th. Judge Justin Morrison, Radville, SK then selected Medonte Can’t Touch 16A, by TR Mr Fire Water 5792RET and her D R Revelation 467 heifer calf at side Reserve Grand Champion Female of the 57 entry show. Grand Champion Bull was Rollin Acres Zip 12B, sired by SCF You Betcha 94Y exhibited by Rollin Acres Charolais, Shelburne & Gold-Bar Livestock, Victoria Harbour. Reserve Grand Champion Bull was Bridor Chevy 12C, sired by TR PZC Mr Turton 0794 ET and owned by Bridor Charolais, Mount Forest.

New French liaison- Bernard Doré
Well-known in Quebec with over thirty years of experience in the beef business, Bernard Doré, agrologist, is the new Canadian Charolais Association (CCA) French liaison for the province of Quebec. He is currently working as a technical advisor & a private beef cattle consultant.
Mr Doré has a broad knowledge of the breed and he is available to assist our French members with all their requests and communications with the CCA office.
