Charolais females also making the top ten female finalists were CH Miss Maura 209D from TC Cattle Company, Warden, WA and SVY Starstuck 901G from Serhienko Cattle Co., Maymont; Rodgers Cattle, MacGregor, MB and Nextgen Cattle, Paxico, KS. HRJ Holy Water 55H, from Johnson Charolais, Barrhead was a top ten finalist in the Supreme Bull show.

McAvoy Charolais, Arelee won the $50,000 Players Club Bull Calf show at Agribition on November 25th with MVY Backdraft 35J sired by MVY Governor 5G . Judged by the over 50 members who each get 10 doses of semen in this future herdsire he then sold in the Canadian National sale for $26,000 to M.C. Quantock Livestock, Lloydminster, AB & McAvoy Charolais.

J. Allan McDonald (71) of Sidney, MB passed away on November 19th after a battle with cancer. He started using PB Charolais bulls in the mid 70’s and in 1982 he bought his first PB females and over time he built up a small purebred herd. In 1996 his son Ron took over the purebreds and continues on today operating under the name of R & G McDonald Livestock. Allan continued in the cattle business until 2019.
A Celebration of Life will take place November 23rd at the Royal Canadian Legion in Carberry.

Prairie Cove Charolais, Bashaw won the Divine Divas Grand Champion Pair of Heifers at the start of the Charolais Show November 12th in Edmonton at Farmfair International. Judges Rodney & Tanya Hollman, Red Deer County selected Miss Prairie Cove 110J, sired by TR CAG Carbon Copy 7630E ET & Miss Prairie Cove 145J, sired by M&M Outsider 4003 PLD. The Reserve Champion Pair of Heifers was SOS Desirae PLD 141J & PJP SOS Beyond Words 21J, Springside Farms, Airdrie & Peter Peters, Souris, PE.
