Charolais Steer Wins Agribition Carcass Competition

Charcross Calves win Feeder Steer and Heifer divisions at Agribition Commercial Show

Bar Crossroads Ranch, Edam won Supreme pen of Feeder Steers and Heifers at this years Canadian Western Agribition Commercial Show. These were Charolais sired our of Simmental X Hereford cows. The pen of 10 steers

averaged 902 lbs. and sold for $1.23/lb or $1,109/head. The pen of 10 heifers had an average weight of 821 lbs. and sold for $1.11/lb or $911/head.

Charolais Win Supreme Bull at NABC

Wat-Cha Land & Cattle Co., Mount Forest, showed the Supreme Champion Bull at this years North American Beef Congress Show, held October 29 in London, ON. WAT-CHA Nth DEGREE 50N, sired by SCC Millennium, beat out the four other breed champions for this honour.

 

North American Beef Congress Show

Medonte Charolais, Hillsdale, had Grand Champion Female at this years North American Beef Congress, with MEDONTE LACE 7L, sired by SVY Guardian and her SVY Freedom heifer calf at side.

Saunders Charolais, Markdale and Ari-Dale Charolais, Barrie, showed JSR JUICE 64P, sired by JSR Equity, to Reserve Grand Champion Female in this 67 entry show on October 27.

Scott Severtson of Innisfail, AB, went to his Senior Champion WAT-CHA Nth DEGREE 50N, sired by SCC Millennium, owned by Wat-Cha Land & Cattle Co., Mount Forest, for his Grand Champion Bull.

Reserve Grand Champion Female was SOS Bling Bling 39R, an HTA Whitehot daughter, shown by Springside Farms, Shortdale, MB.

Grand Champion Bull was Westdale Network 15N, a Sparrows Alliance son, shown by D. Grant Farms, Bowden. Reserve Grand Champion Bull was Chardel On Fire 415P, sired by Sparrows Cossak 11L, exhibited by CAD Charolais.

Charolais Sweep Saskatoon 4-H Regional

Both the Grand and Reserve Grand Champion steers at this year’s show July 6 & 7 were Charolais buckskins. The Champion from Kirsten Sparrow of Vanscoy weighed 1,399 lbs. and sold for $3.40/lb. to the MAD about beef group. The Reserve Grand Champion from Curtis Reid weighed 1,211 lbs., and sold for $3.00/lb. to the Emerald Casino. Grand Champion Female was a red Charolais cow/calf pair from Kira Casavant of Blaine Lake.

 

Charolais Wins Neepawa Interclub 4-H Show

The Neepawa & Area Interclub Show was held on July 4, 2005 in Neepawa with Jean and Marcel Fouillard, St Lazare judging. Amanda Snezyk, of Neepawa, had the Supreme Champion Heifer with a Charolais X heifer.

Derek Friesen of the Erickson Club was Reserve Grand Champion with his tan Charolais cross steer, weighing 1328 lbs. The steer sold for $1.45/lb. to the Minnedosa Pharmacy.

 

Charolais Female Wins Carberry-Sidney Interclub 4-H Show

Marshall McDonald of Brookdale won Supreme Champion Female at the Carberry-Sidney Interclub Show on July 3, 2005, with a purebred Charolais heifer sired by CS Mango 256M.

 

Charolais Steer Wins Reserve Overall at Swift Current

A tan Charolais X Red Angus steer of Natalie Oram of Central Butte won Reserve Grand Champion at the Swift Current (SK) 4-H Regional Show July 2nd. The steer weighing 1,245 lbs. sold for 1.75/lb. to Profico Energy Management of Swift Current.

 

Charolais Steer Wins Armstrong 4-H Regional

Autumn Baker’s Charolais buckskin steer won Grand Champion Steer at the OK Stock Show 4-H Regional, in Armstrong, BC. Charolais X steer weighed 1,380 lbs. and sold for $2.30/lb. to Sure Crop Feeds in Grindrod, BC. Autumn is the granddaughter of Keith and Cheryl Altwasser, Lumby, BC.

 

Charolais Steers win Calgary International Youth Livestock Show

Charolais steers shown by Scarlett Davis of Acme and Marina Wagers of Innisfail won Grand and Reserve Grand Champion honours on July 7th at the International Youth Livestock Show held at the start of the Calgary Stampede.

 

Charolais Steer Wins Lloydminster 4-H Regional

A buckskin Charolais X Simmental X Hereford steer of Brock Weston, Maidstone was selected Grand Champion by judge Jerry Hewson at the Lloydminster (SK) 4-H Regional show June 6th. The steer weighed 1,278 lbs. and sold for $3.30 to the Cross, Redden & Fountain Tire Charity Golf Tourney.
