Declan Sargent, Mirror and his steer Willis won Reserve Champion Steer at the May 27th, 2024 Lacombe and District 4-H Show and Sale. Willis was also selected as the Reserve Champion Home Grown Steer and Reserve Champion Steer of the Nebraska 4-H Multi Club. Willis weighed 1515 lb and was purchased by Sterling Industries Inc., Blackfalds for $6.70/lb. The shows were judged by Scott Anderson, Sylvan Lake and Jay Good, Brooks.

Jackson Corner, Caledonia won Grand Champion female at the Ontario AGM Junior Show, August 17th, Colborne, ON with TR Ms Outsider 3765L ET by M&M Outsider 4003 Pld. Judges John & Kathy Pearson, Grafton then selected Baker Farms Lavender Haze 16L by CCC WC Redemption 7143 Pld ET shown by Emily Honey, Warkworth. There were 42 youth and 40 head in the show.
Kurtis Black, Haley Station was elected president of the Ontario Charolais Association at their Annual General Meeting, August 17th at Colborne. Eric Doran, Tweed was elected 1st Vice-President and Ryan Briggs, Oro-Medonte was elected 2nd Vice-President. Ashley Baker, Madoc took on the Secretary/Treasurer duties with the departure of long-time member Doris Aitken, Mount Forest. Complete details will be in the October issue of the Charolais Banner.
Mark Frost, Kingsey-Falls, QC was re-elected president of the Quebec Charolais Associaton at their 52nd Annual General Meeting, Aug

Owen Sellman, McCreary, MB was elected president of the Manitoba Charolais Association at their Annual General Meeting August 10th at Hunter Charolais, Roblin. Full details to follow in the October issue of the Charolais Banner.
Charolais Win Rivers & District 4-H
Cays Tanya 21L by SVY Trust 6H exhibited by Chase Airey, Rivers won Champion Yearling Heifer and Overall Champion Female at the Rivers & District 4-H Beef Club Achievement Show July 4th. Shawn Birmingham was the judge. She was also Overall Champion Charolais Female at the Harding Fair (150 head show), July 19th judged by Laura Horner and Jake Rawluk
GW Murray of the Tilley 4-H Beef Club won Grand Champion Steer at the Newell District 4-H Show and Sale. GW’s 1,595 lb steer Bob, was purchased by Hillside Excavating Inc. for $6.80/lb. The 70 head steer show was judged by Blaine Brost, Irvine.
Navada Murray’s Charcross steer was selected as the Reserve Champion Steer at the Newell District 4-H Show and Sale. Navada’s steer Rooster weighed 1,560 lb and was purchased by Bohrson Marketing Services Ltd, Olds for $6.60/lb.
Charolais Wins Reserve
Jessie Weeks, Castor, AB won Reserve Champion Female at the Coronation District 4-H Show with TAC Judith 6J sired by Pro-Char Resistol 57D and her TAC Melissa 39M heifer calf at side. Jessie also exhibited the Grand Champion Herd. The June 4th show was judged by Bill Dietrich, Forestburg.
Tilleman Wins
Abigail Tilleman, Crossfield, AB won Grand Champion Purebred Mature Pair with NIER Jolene 1J sired by WC Milestone 5223 P and her heifer calf NIER Miss Moly 2M at the May 31, 2024 4-H On Parade Regional Show held in Calgary, AB judged by Mary Kate Robertson and Alvin Pawlitza. They were also selected as Reserve Champion Mature Pair at the Taber 4-H Spring Invitational, Crossfield-Madden 4-H Beef Achievement Day and the May 25th Clover Community Classic, Olds.
NIER Karaoke 1K by WC Milestone 5223 P and her NIER Magic Carpet Ride 3M Bull calf at side won Reserve Champion Two-Year Old Pair at the May 20th Crossfield- Madden 4-H Beef Achievement Day, exhibited by Abigail Tilleman. The show was judged by Dave Sibbald. NIER Lady 1L sired by WDZ Warroad 906 was selected as the Reserve Champion Yearling Heifer at both the Crossfield-Madden 4-H Achievement Day and 4-H on Parade. Abigail also won Reserve Champion Breeders Herd at the Crossfield-Madden 4-H Beef Achievement Day, Clover Community Classic and 4-H on Parade.
