The Grand Champion Bull was SOS Pandemic 168H, sired by SOS Apex 139F PLD, owned by Springside Farms, Alton Century Farms, Lucknow, ON & Landaker Charolais Farms, Brownvale, AB. The Reserve Champion Bull was RRMM Yellowstone 2J, sired by D R Monsoon 45, owned by Seven Quarter Circle Charolais, Wainwright, AB.

Serhienko Cattle Co., Maymont, won the Edam Fall Fair pen show held October 30, 2021. There were five Charolais pens exhibited from breeders across Saskatchewan. The pen of three bulls had an average weight of 1,267lb and a 4.47 WPDA. The pen then went on to be Peoples Choice Champion over 21 Pens.

Beck Farms, Lang, SK won the $1,000 Brandon Ag Ex Bull Jackpot Show, October 27th. Beck’s Thread 2176J, sired by SOS Apex Pld 139F. The multi breed jackpot was judged by Dallas George, Shawn Airey, and Richie Joint. The Manitoba Charolais Association matched the $1,000 jackpot for overall champion bull.

Vern Spence who raised Charolais south of Ottawa, ON at Kars passed away October 11th at the age of 94. Vern was active in the Ontario Charolais scene in the 1980s and 90s. Vern retired twice in his life; first, at the age of 55, from the Federal Government to farm full-time, and then from farming at the age of 90.

Ella Stewart formerly of Lloydella Charolais of Shawville, QC passed away October 21st at the age of 94. Ella and her husband Lloyd who passed away in 2005 were early breeders of Charolais. Their son Terry raised Charolais with them and took over the farming operation.

At the Fall Finale Show, October 16 & 17th in LIndsay, ON the Grand Champion Charolais Bull and Supreme over all breeds was CRG Outta Here 954G, sired by M&M Outsider 4003 PLD, from Darren McCord, Kanata; Stanhow Farms, Shawville, QC and Oattes Charolais, Cobden.
