Sharodon Charlize 16C, sired by  D R Revelation 467 and her Sharodon Tulo 14C bull calf at side, exhibited by Sharodon Farms, Omemee, ON was Grand Champion Female at the Expo Boeuf Show, October 7th in Victoriaville, QC. Reserve Grand Champion Female, judge by Phil Hardy, Masonville, was Echo Springs Orianna 6B, sired by D R Revelation 467 and her MCF Bohannon 305A heifer calf at side, exhibited by Open Gate Farm, Stanstead. Grand Champion Bull was Sharodon Empire 1E, sired by Sharodon Tulo 14C, exhibited by Sharodon Farms. Reserve Grand Champion Bull was Cornerview Hemi 42E, sired by McTavish Hallelujah 79B, exhibited by Cornerview Charolais, Cobden, ON.

CML Desirae 669D, sired by CML Gunslinger 401B, exhibited by McLeod Livestock, Cochrane, was selected Grand Champion Female at the Olds (AB) Fall Classic BOSS Show on October 7th. The Reserve Champion Female of this 27 entries show judged by Tyson Hertz, Fir Mountain, SK was ONL Miss Belladona 2E, a KCM Spectacular Bid 240Z daughter, exhibited by Daines Cattle/ONeill Livestock, Red Deer County. The Grand Champion Bull was HRJ Crowd Favourite 515C, sired by Sparrows Kingston 139Y, exhibited by Johnson Charolais, Barrhead. The Reserve Champion bull was ONL Daddy Cool 4C, sired by JIL Thunder Roll 69Z, exhibited by Daines Cattle/ONeill Livestock, Red Deer County.

Edmund (Ed) Seater passed away September 19th after a long illness at the age of 84. Ed was a pioneer Charolais breeder that ran under the name of Ed-C-Dor farms at Rivers, MB for over 3 decades. In 2002 Ed and Dorothy were recipients of a CCA Honour Roll award. On Saturday, October 28th a graveside urn interment will be held at 12:00 P.M. at the Ancrum Cemetery followed by a Remembrance Luncheon at the Rivers Legion Hall to welcome and thank friends and family with special memories of Ed and the re-acquaintance of friends and family.

WSS Fifty Shades of White 498B, sired by KAYR Upswing 507Y and and her SCF You Betcha 94Y bull calf at side, exhibited by Rollin’ Acres Charolais, Shelburne & Dudgeon-Snobelen Farms, Ripley was slapped Grand Champion Female at the Lindsay (ON) BOSS Show, September 22nd. Reserve Grand Champion Female of this 72 entry show, judged by Andre Steppler, Miami, MB was CRG Princess Valentine 42D, sired by TR PZC Mr Turton 0794 ET. Grand Champion Bull was Hicks Cryptonyte 24C, sired by  Hicks Indiana Jones 7Y, from Hicks Charolais, Arthur. Reserve Grand Champion Bull was Cornerview Dashboard 39D, sired by SVY Monument Pld 159Y exhibited by Cornerview Charolais, Cobden & Sunrise Charolais, Stayner.

Donna Kucinskas passed away September 14th at the age of 76. Donna worked in the registry department and receptionist of the Canadian Charolais Association for 23 years. A Funeral Service will be held at Mountain View Funeral Home (1605 – 100 Street SE, Calgary) on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens.

A Charolais sired buckskin steer from Tyson Black, Foresters Falls was named Reserve Grand Champion at the Renfrew (ON) Fair 4-H Interclub Show on September 9th. The judge was Doug Milne-Smith, Kemptville and the steer weighed 1,505 lb and sold for $6/lb to North Gower Grains, North Gower. The steer dress 924 lb or 61%.

CRG Pincess Valentine 42D, sired by TR PZC Mr Turton 0794 ET from Oattes Charolais, Cobden was named Grand Champion Female at the Renfrew (ON) Fair, September 10th. Judge Mark Phillips, Denfield then chose CRG Miss Control 30E, sired by MCF Bohannon 305A, also from Oattes Charolais as the Reserve Grand Champion Female of the 32 entry BOSS Show. Grand Champion Bull was Sharodon Tulo 14C, sired by Gerrard Montezuma 6T from Sharodon Farms, Omemee and Reserve Grand Champion Bull was Cornerview Dashboard 39D exhibited by Cornerview Charolais, Cobden & Sunrise Charolais, Stayner.

Will Banford, Eastend had Grand Champion steer at the Maple Creek, SK 4-H regional show June 13th, judged by Jamie Rae Pittman. His steer competed against 50 steers, weighed 1,480 lb and sold for $4.25/lb to Instow Reclamation, Shaunavon and Rick Peterson, Climax. This is the third year in a row that the Banfords have had Champion here.

Brett Grieve, Fillmore, SK won Grand Champion Female, with SKW Popcorn 109C, in the Mixed Breed Class at the Manitoba Youth Beef Roundup held Aug. 4th to 6th in Neepawa, MB. 69 youth from Manitoba and Saskatchewan attended the 10th annual event with 78 head of cattle plus calves shown.

Kord Phillips of Waskatenau, AB won Grand Champion steer at the Fort Saskatchewan 4-H Beef show on May 29th. The steer, judged by Robert Dixon, weighed 1,396 lb and sold for $3/lb to Tailor Made Insurance.
