Alyssa Haywood, Brigden, ON won Grand Champion Female at both her 4-H Achievement program and the Inter-County 4-H show at the Brook-Alvinston Fall Fair on September 30th with WSS Kinsley 242K by SVY Wizard 707E. Judged by Clay Howe from Michigan there were 16 in the class.

Judge Jeff Lees, Arcola, SK then chose DMC McCord Miss Canada 1L, sired by CRG Outta Here 954G from McCord Farms as his Reserve Grand Champion Female of this 28 entry show. Grand Champion Bull was Cornerview Laredo 7L, sired by LT Patriot 4004 Pld from Cornerview Charolais, Cobden, ON. Michael Hunter, Roblin, was re-elected president of the Manitoba Charolais Association at their Annual General Meeting held October 5th in Brandon, MB. Owen Sellman, McCreary, was re-elected 1st Vice President while Scott Baron, Carberry, remains the 2nd Vice-President position. Rae Trimble-Olson, Portage la Prairie, continues as the Secretary-Treasurer. Manitoba Charolais Ambassador of the year went to Ron & Gail McDonald, R&G McDonald Livestock, Sidney. Judges Dennis & Katie Serhienko, Maymont, SK then chose WGD Miss Luna 21L, sired by WGD Ruger 8J, from Daines Cattle & O’Neill Livestock, Red Deer, County as their Reserve Grand Champion of this 15 entry show. Grand Champion Bull was SOS Kickstart PLD 825K, sired by SOS Apex PLD 139F, from Springside Cattle Co., Steppler Farms, Miami, MB and Peter Peters, Souris, PE. Reserve Grand Bull was ONL Back Road 35L, sired by WIA Backwater Jack 060P, from Daines Cattle & O’Neill Livestock.
Ricki Hill won Reserve Grand Champion Steer out of 26 steers at the Lenore, MB 4-H Beef Club Achievement Day held July 3rd in Virden. The next day She won her weight class out of 8 steers at the Virden & District Interclub show and sale. Judges were Nolan Glover & Denver Bolton. Her steer weighed 1356lb and sold for $3.90/lb to Sparwood Service Center and Farley Kempthorne CPA LLP.
