Paige Nesbitt, Nestleton won the Junior Grand Aggregate at the CCYA Conference and Show, July 15th-18th in Carp, ON. Reserve Junior winner was Sophie Taylor, Dunsford.

Anna Nesbitt, Nestleton won Intermediate Grand Aggregate with Brooklyn Cramp, Hillsdale winning Reserve Grand Aggregate.

Payton Caldwell, Weyburn, SK was Senior Grand Aggregate Champion with Aleah Steacy, Lansdowne winning Reserve Grand.
Fahey on Fire

Over the past few months Westin Fahey, Big Valley, AB has had more Junior Show Success with is Steer “Ferrari”, winning Champion Charolais Steer at the CRY Jr Steer & Heifer Show April 18th in Stettler, AB and he also won Grand Champion Steer at the Perdue, SK Jr Steer & Heifer Show and the July 7th Boarder City Showdown Steer & Heifer Show, Lloydminster, SK. He won Reserve Champion Over All Steer at the Cody Sibbald Legacy Classic, Beechy, SK the May 23rd Josephburg Jr Steer Show and the Mayerthorpe (AB) Jr Steer & Heifer Show and finished 3rd overall at the Calgary Stampede.

Coughlin/Honey Win CCYA Show
Dallas Coughlin (ON) had Champion Bull Calf at the 2026 Canadian Charolais Youth Association Conference and Show, July 18th in Carp, ON with Cornerview Pilot 13P by RBM Keystone H41. Open Gate Pops 41P, sired by Trezegoal exhibited by Lily Bouffard (QC) was selected as the Reserve Champion Bull Calf. 

Judge Aaron Grant, Olds (AB) then chose MISS Prairie Cove 568N by WC Milestone 5223 P exhibited by Emily Honey (ON) as his Grand Champion Female. CRG Got It Goin’On 27N by PCC Bourban 118J exhibited by Samantha Hamilton (ON) won Reserve Grand Champion honours. 

McLean Wins Gladys 4-H
Roy McLean won Grand Champion Market Steer at the Gladys, AB 4H Beef Show and sale May 27th at the High River Ag Society. Roy’s Charolais cross steer Jose weighed 1635 lbs with an average rate of gain of 3.75 lbs a day. Jose was purchased by Ward Tire, High River, AB.

Friends of the Canadian Charolais Association had their Annual General Meeting June 19th in Truro, NS. Kelly Howe, Moose Jaw, SK was re-elected Chairman; Donna Courchesne, Shawville, QC was elected President; Keith Black, Foresters Falls, ON Vice-Chairman and Jeralyn Rasmussen, Innisfail, AB was elected Secretary-Treasurer. The rest of the board are Mark Frost, Kingsey Falls, QC; Dwein Trask, Saskatoon, SK and Nancy Milton, Cornwall, PEI. See the August Charolais Banner for more information. 
Ryan Nesbitt, Nestleton, ON was re-elected President of the Canadian Charolais Association at their Annual General Meeting held June 19th, 2026 in Truro, NS. Herder Wins Camrose District 4-H
JudgeTy Dietrich, Forestburg, AB selected Elyse Herder’s charcross steer as his Grand Champion Steer at the June 2, 2026 Camrose District Interclub 4-H Show & Sale in Bashaw. Her steer “Burnzy” weighed 1640 lb, had an ADG of 4.34 lb/day and sold for $8/lb to Vold Jones & Vold, Ponoka.

Charolais Cross Wins Vegreville 4-H
Luke Brooke, Viking (AB) exhibited the Grand Champion Steer at the May 25th Vegreville 4-H Beef Club Show & Sale. Luke’s Charolais sired steer ”Amnesia” weighed 1406 lb and was purchased by Canadian Pressure Testing of Vegreville. Mark Shologan, Myrnam judged the show.
