Ken Qualman formerly of Dundurn, SK passed away Friday, December 6th at the age of 85. Ken and his wife Lorraine were Qualman Charolais for 40 years starting in the early 1970s. They were founding members of the Hub Charolais Breeders group and participated in the annual female sale in Saskatoon. Ken was a barn boss at Agribition for many years and served on the Saskatchewan Charolais Association Board of Directors for a few terms. In 2002 they were awarded the SCA Honour Scroll.A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, December 15, 2024 at 11:00am at Mourning Glory-Acadia McKague’s Funeral Chapel. Burial to follow at Pleasant Point Cemetery.




Hunter Acres Ethel 6E, sired by Charhaven X-Pelled 105X and her bull calf sired by Mr Louber Erickson 456E and exhibited by Campbell Charolais, West Mabou was Grand Champion Female of the Heritage Classic Show, September 21st in Windsor, NS. Judge Toby Noble, Lloydminster, AB then selected Balamore Cowgirl 301L, sired by Balamore Justice 126J and exhibited by Starr View Farm, Scotsburn as the Reserve Grand Champion Female of this 26 entry (BOSS) Show.
Lester Millang of Camrose, AB passed away October 27th at the age of 89. Lester was a Canadian Charolais Association director from 1992 to 2000 and president in 1995 & 1996. Starting in the Charolais business in the late 1970s, the purebred herd of Millang Stock Farm was dispersed in 2006. Lester & Agnes were added to the CCA Honour Roll in 2007. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm, Monday, November 4th at Messiah Lutheran Church, 4810 50 St, Camrose.


Longview Faith 1K, sired by BRCHE White Bear 8505 Pld ET and her heifer calf sired by WCR Bold Move 168 P, exhibited by Longview Cattle Co., Grenfell, SK was Grand Champion Female at the Brandon (MB) Ag-Ex Show, October 26th. Judge Chad Hollinger of Neudorf, SK then selected SVY Berkley’s Star 302L sired by SVY Trust 6H exhibited by Longview Cattle Co. and Serhienko Cattle Co., Maymont as the Reserve Grand Champion of this 47 entry (BOSS) show.
