The Reserve Grand Champion Female of this 26 entry BOSS show judged by Garth Rancier, Killam was CML Desirae 33H, sired by LT Patriot 4004 PLD, owned by McLeod Livestock, Cochrane and JK Fraser, Cochrane. The Grand Champion Bull was CML Raindance 996G, sired by LT Patriot 4004 PLD, owned by McLeod Livestock and White Lake Colony, Nobleford. The Reserve Champion Bull was SOS Pandemic 168H, sired by SOS Apex 139F PLD, owned by Springside Farms; Alton Century Farms, Kincardine, ON and Landaker Charolais Farm, Brownvale. Cedardale Sweeps Lindsay Show
Cedardale Miss 44H, sired by WC Uncharted 7328 P, exhibited by Cedardale Farms, Nestleton was selected Grand Champion Female of the Lindsay (ON) Charolais (BOSS) Show, September 24th. Judge Jack Oattes of Cobden then chose MVY Barbra-Ann 2G, sired by Cedardale Zeal 125Z with her TR CAG Caarbon Copy 7630E ET heifer calf at side from Rollin’ Acres Charolais, Mulmur as his Reserve Grand Champion Female of this 29 entry show. Grand Champion Bull and Supreme Champion over all breeds was Cedardale Jaguar 111J, sired by WC Milestone 5223P from Cedardale Farms. Reserve Grand Champion Bull was Cedardale Jarvis 15J, sired by by SVY Wizard 707E also from Cedardale Farms.



McCord/Cornerview win Renfrew Show
CRG Miss Monte 960G, sired by M & M Outsider 4003 Pld with her HRJ Maverick 556C bull calf at side, exhibited by Darren McCord, Kanata was selected Grand Champion Female of the Renfrew (ON) Charolais (BOSS) Show, September 11th. Judge Doug Milne-Smith of Kemptville then chose Fondoak Clancy 1C, sired by Cornerview Avenger 40A with her LT Nationwide 8455 Pld ET bull calf at side from Foadoak Farm, Renfrew as his Reserve Grand Champion Female of this 26 entry show. Grand Champion Bull was Cornerview Juan Pablo 6J, sired by Cornerview Express 2E from Cornerview Charolais, Cobden. Jaun Pablo went on to be Supreme Champion Bull of all breeds as well. Reserve Grand Champion Bull was DMC McCord Jet 1J, sired by HRJ Maverick 556C from Darren McCord.

Gerry Bowes, Indian Head, SK passed away August 23rd after a battle with cancer. Gerry was the Canadian Charolais Association National fieldman and CCA Performance Manager from1976 -1988. The family Charolais operation B4 Charolais was active for many years and Gerry was presented the SCA Honor Scroll in 2012 and the CCA Honor Roll in 2013. Celebration of life will be October 2nd, 1:30 pm, Elks Hall, 401 Dewdney St., Indian Head. SERVICE POSTPONED UNTIL A LATER DATE DUE TO COVID RULES
Former Ontario Breeder passes
Lawrence (Larry) Joseph Leahy, 75, of Douro, ON passed away suddenly the evening of August 12, 2021 at Peterborough Regional Health Centre. Larry purchased his first Charolais bull in 1970 and was active in the Charolais business as Charleahy Charolais and partner with Don Burgomaster in Triangle Sales Management for a number of years. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Douro on Friday, August 20, 2021 at 11:00 AM.

Michael Hunter, Roblin, was elected president of the Manitoba Charolais Association at their Annual General Meeting held July 21th at Brookdale. Matthew Ramsey, Hamiota, was elected 1st-Vice President while Erin Jackson, Inglis, fills the 2nd Vice-President position. Rae Trimble-Olson, Portage la Prairie, remains as the Secretary-Treasurer.
