Cornerview Pilot 13P, sired by RBM Keystone H41, exhibited by Cornerview Charolais, Cobden won Grand Champion Bull at the September 18th Renfrew Ontario Fall Fair. Whitewater Paramount 9P, sired by Silverstream Padra P7, exhibited by Whitewater Livestock, Haley Station won Reserve Champion Bull. The Grand Champion Female was CRG Miss Canada 52N by PCC Bourbon 118J exhibited by Oattes Charolais & Stanhow Farms, Cobden. BOY HL Navy 590N, sired by BOY Outlier 812 ET Pld won Reserve Champion Female. Exhibited by Eric Doran & Vanessa Boutilier, Tweed. Supreme Breeder’s Herd over all breeds was won by Cornerview Charolais.

Judges Riley Pashulka and Scott Jensen selected SVY MISS Jewel 555N by BOY Outlier 812 ET Pld, exhibited by Jackson Corner as their Supreme Champion Female at the September 5th Paris, ON Fair.

Bogart Cattle Co & Vanessa Boutilier won Supreme Champion Female at the September 20th Madoc (ON) Fair with BOY HL Navy 590N. Adam Black judged the show.

Carolyn was born September 17, 1943, in Drumheller, AB and passed away September 15, 2026, in Strathmore, AB surrounded by family just shy of her 83rd birthday.
Carolyn was raised on her family’s farm near Carbon, AB where she grew up and spent her childhood and adolescent years. After graduating from school in Carbon, she went on to Olds College where she studied Home Economics. Following college, Carolyn moved to Calgary where she met her very dear friend, Edith Penner who, along with Bob, would later introduce her to Lloyd on a blind date in the field!
Lloyd and Carolyn were married October 26, 1963, and started their farming life and family near Swalwell. Together, they raised their 3 children; Laurie, Darren and Lisa and in 2014 sold the farm and moved to Strathmore. They successfully operated Bar Nineteen Charolais for many years. Carolyn was a true homemaker and farm wife. She was an amazing wife, mother and grandma that supported all the kids’ activities from watching them in 4-H, playing baseball, hockey and volleyball. A private family service will be held at the Swalwell cemetery.

It is with profound sadness that the family of Daniel Robert Loewen announce his passing on August 27th in Brooks at the age of 76 with family by his side. Danny was born on August 7th, 1950 in Bassano, Alberta. He was raised in Rosemary, Alberta where he spent his entire life, raised his family and even retired all on RR154.
In 1980 he bought his first 25 purebred Charolais cows. Loewen Charolais was up and running. Danny also sat on both the Alberta Charolais and the Canadian Charolais Associations Board of Directors.
Danny will be loving remembered by his wife Marg, son Scott (Mareta), grandchildren Mason (Brook), Kennedy, Caleb, Kayden, Lauren, Hannah, Kathleen, Henry, sister-in-law Linda, his niece, six nephews, extended family members, dear friends and those who lives were touched over the years.  A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 26th, 2:00 PM at the Rosemary Mennonite Church. Interment at Rosemary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, and in memory of Danny donations may be made directly to the Duchess Arena upgrade project. Any donations can be eft to duchessagsociety@yahoo.ca, cash or cheques can be dropped off at ATB in Duchess or mailed to Box 385 Duchess, AB.

Mark Frost, Kingsey-Falls was elected President of the Quebec Charolais Association at their Annual General Meeting August 16th. Armand Roy, St-Bernard Lacolle was elected as the 1st Vice-President and Karine Dubuc, St-Patrice-De-Beaurivage, 2nd Vice-President. Chantal Raymond, Ste-Eulalie was elected as the Secretary/Treasurer. The meeting was held at Ferme Coujo, Bon-Conseil, QC. See the October Charolais Banner for more information.

NIER Lady 1L with her twin bull calves NIER Payday 8P and NIER Pay Check 9P (RUSS Jesse James 45J) won Champion Exotic Senior Female, Grand Champion Exotic Female and Supreme Champion Female at the Dawson Creek Exhibition. This pair is now qualified for Supreme at the Canadian Western Agribition.

John Chomiak passed away Thursday July 30th. John & his wife Cathie operated Chomiak Charolais near Mundare, AB. John took great pride in his herd and was a strong Charolais enthusiast. A Celebration of Life for John will be held Saturday August 22nd at 1:00 pm at Park Place Funeral Home, 51 Broadway Blvd, Sherwood Park, AB.

Eric Doran, Tweed was elected President of the Ontario Charolais Association at their Annual General Meeting held July 18th in Carp. Ryan Briggs, Oro-Medonte was elected as the 1st Vice-President and Wyatt Burgomaster, Peterborough as the 2nd Vice-President. Ashley Baker, Hastings remains as the Secretary-Treasurer. Payton Caldwell, Weyburn, SK was re-elected President of the 2026-2027 Canadian Charolais Youth Association Board of Directors. Out going members from the board are Abigail Tilleman and Darren McCord.
