Quebec Charolais Breeder Passes
Jean-Claude Manningham of Laurierville, QC passed away January 25th at the age of 74. Funeral details are as follows.
À l’Hôpital Ste-Marie de Trois-Rivières le 25 janvier 2018, est décédé à l’âge de 74 ans,
Monsieur Jean-Claude Manningham époux de dame Rose-Aimée Bilodeau. Il était domicilié à
Laurierville. Il était le fils de feu Arthur Manningham et de feu Gilberte Isabelle.
Le service religieux aura lieu samedi le 3 février 2018 à 11h30 à l’église de Laurierville.
La famille reçoit les condoléances, vendredi le 2 février de 14h à 16h, 19h à 22h et samedi jour des
funérailles à compter de 9 heures au Complexe Funéraire Jacques Couture Inc, 142 rue Grenier,

Charolais Win Medicine Hat Pen Show
Congratulations to Gilliland Bros. Charolais, Carievale, SK on winning the Pen of 3 bull show at the Medicine Hat Pen Show. The pen was made up with two sons of Sparrows Escobar 429B and a son of HRJ Crowd Favorite 515C. There were 32 pens exhibited in this all breed show. The other Charolais pens entered had a great showing as well there were five pens of Charolais bulls entered and they all advanced to the finals of 10 pens. The Ranchers Choice Yearling Bull was won by Flat Valley Cattle Co., Hilda, with a son of JDJ Impression K894 ET.

The five person judging panel sorted through 36 Champion females of nine breeds from across Canada. The Supreme Champion Bull was a Limousin two-year old from Nordal Limousin & Angus & Greenwood Limousin.
Grand Champion Female at the Canadian Western Agribition Charolais show November 24th was PZC Lily 5013 ET, sired by TR Mr Fire Water 5792RET and her Sparrows Kingston 139Y heifer calf at side exhibited by Prairie Cove Charolais, Bashaw, AB and Wrangler Charolais, Westlock, AB. Judges Blair & Lois McRae of Brandon, MB then selected CML Desirae 558C, sired by CML Distinction 318A with her MVY All Shook Up 18C heifer calf at side as Reserve Grand Champion Female, exhibited by McLeod Livestock, Cochrane, AB & McLeod Earthworks, Calgary, AB.
