Charolais top Bricks and Beef Show
A Charolais steer from Matthew Howe, Moose Jaw was the champion steer of seven at the Claybank (SK) Bricks and Beef Junior Show, October 14th judged by Adriane Good, Regina.

Elise Howe, Moose Jaw won Champion Yearling Heifer over all breeds with HKS Billie Jean 10K, sired by Pleasantdawn Connection 195G. Judge Megan Roger, Moose Jaw then selected PCCX Kahula 2201K, sired by HRJ Maverick 556C, exhibited by Payton Caldwell, Weyburn as the Reserve Champion Yearling Heifer in this 14 head division.
In total there were just shy of 30 youth and 40 head of cattle in this inaugural show.

Judge Jeff Lees, Arcola, SK then chose DMC McCord Miss Canada 1L, sired by CRG Outta Here 954G from McCord Farms as his Reserve Grand Champion Female of this 28 entry show. Grand Champion Bull was Cornerview Laredo 7L, sired by LT Patriot 4004 Pld from Cornerview Charolais, Cobden, ON. Michael Hunter, Roblin, was re-elected president of the Manitoba Charolais Association at their Annual General Meeting held October 5th in Brandon, MB. Owen Sellman, McCreary, was re-elected 1st Vice President while Scott Baron, Carberry, remains the 2nd Vice-President position. Rae Trimble-Olson, Portage la Prairie, continues as the Secretary-Treasurer. Manitoba Charolais Ambassador of the year went to Ron & Gail McDonald, R&G McDonald Livestock, Sidney.
