McLeod Livestock, Cochrane showed the champion pen of three bulls at this year’s Farmfair International pen show in Edmonton, AB. Three full brothers made up the pen. CML Trifecta 516C, CML Exacta 514C and CML Derby 511C, sired by Gerrard Pastor 35Z.

Prairie Cove Miss 309A, sired by HTA Vegas 134Y along with her calf CAYS Moonshine 11C,sired by TR MR Firewater 5792RET owned by Cay’s Cattle, Kinistino,SK and Prairie Cove Charolais, Bowden was selected Champion Female by Judge Tyson Rasmuson, Midale SK. The Reserve Female was PZC TR Desirae 012, sired by CML Diablo 2X with CML Desirae 558C a CML Distinction 318A daughter at side, owned by McLeod Livestock, Cochrane. The Champion Bull was HRJ Crowd Favourite 515C, sired by Sparrows Kingston 139Y, owned by Johnson Charolais, Barrhead. The Reserve Grand Champion bull was ONL Daddy Cool 4C, a JIL Thunder Roll 67Z son shown by O’Neil Livestock and Daines Cattle, Red Deer County. There were 39 entries in this year’s show.

HRJ Crowd Favourite 515C, a January 6th son of Sparrows Kingston 139Y was chosen Champion Bull Calf at this year’s All Breed Legend of the Fall show at Farmfair International in Edmonton, AB. He is owned by Johnson Charolais, Barrhead.

MVY Tyson 21C, sired by TR PZC Turton 0794ET, owned by McAvoy Charolais, Arelee, SK was selected Grand Champion Female at this year’s Stockade Round-Up, November 5th in Lloydminster. Judge Murray Andrews, Moose Jaw then selected MVY Bo-Peep 5C, by Cedardale Zeal 125Z, from McAvoy Charolais as Reserve Champion Female. Grand Champion Bull was SVY Grizzly 521C, sired by SVY Blitz 125Y, exhibited by Serhienko Cattle Co. Maymont. Reserve Champion Bull was MVY All Shook Up 18C, by MVY All Star 61A, owned by McAvoy Charolais.

CRG Barely Legal 69B, sired by TR PZC Mr Turton 0794 ET, owned by Oattes Charolais, Cobden won Grand Champion Female honours at the 2015 Toronto (ON) Royal Agriculture Winter Fair Charolais Show on Novermber 6th. Judge Justin Morrison, Radville, SK then selected Medonte Can’t Touch 16A, by TR Mr Fire Water 5792RET and her D R Revelation 467 heifer calf at side Reserve Grand Champion Female of the 57 entry show. Grand Champion Bull was Rollin Acres Zip 12B, sired by SCF You Betcha 94Y exhibited by Rollin Acres Charolais, Shelburne & Gold-Bar Livestock, Victoria Harbour. Reserve Grand Champion Bull was Bridor Chevy 12C, sired by TR PZC Mr Turton 0794 ET and owned by Bridor Charolais, Mount Forest.

New French liaison- Bernard Doré
Well-known in Quebec with over thirty years of experience in the beef business, Bernard Doré, agrologist, is the new Canadian Charolais Association (CCA) French liaison for the province of Quebec. He is currently working as a technical advisor & a private beef cattle consultant.
Mr Doré has a broad knowledge of the breed and he is available to assist our French members with all their requests and communications with the CCA office.

Judge Alan Marshall slapped Rosso Ms Maryanne 4X, sired by GBR Rambler 78U and her MXS Irresistibull 357A son at side exhibited by Rosso Charolais, Moose Jaw, SK as Res. Grand Champion Female of this 82 entry show. Grand Champion bull was JMB Renaissance 444B, sired by KRF What-A-Boy 104Y exhibited by JMB Charolais, Brookdale & Footprint Farms, Esther, AB. Res. Grand Champion Bull was JWX Crimson Red 101C, sired by Crystal D Pierce 40P exhibited by Wilgenbusch Charolais, Halbrite, SK.

Whitewater Aphrodite 2A by Sparrows Fargo 811U and her Winn Mans Big Rig 639Y heifer calf at side, from WhiteWater Livestock,  Haley Station, ON was named Grand Champion Female at the 2015 Expo Boeuf Show, October 10th in Victoriaville, QC. Judge Brent Saunders named Dubuc Adalie 317A by Shelco Made Easy 512R and her WR Wrangler W601 bull calf at side exhibited by Dubuc  Charolais Senc, Ste-Eulalie as Reserve Grand Champion Female. Grand Champion Bull was McTavish Hallelujah 79B, sired by Pleasant Dawn Magnum 49Y from Cornerview Charolais, Cobden, ON and Kirlene Cattle Co., Brighton, ON while Post Alaska 836A sired by POST Yamaska 90Y from Ranch Ostiguy Charolais, St-Cesaire was named Reserve Grand Champion Bull.

Judge Todd Bygrove from Lloydminster selected PZC TR Desirae 012 a CML Diablo 2x daughter along with here CML Distinction 318A heifer calf as Champion female at this years Olds Fall Classic. She was shown by McLeod Livestock, Cochrane. The reserve female was ONL Hot Dam 14C a daughter of JIL Thunder Roll 69Z exhibited by Daines/O’Neill Livestock, Red Deer County. The champion bull was CML Distinction 318A by Merit Vintage 4065P, owned by McLeod Livestock and Sun Rise Charolais, Stayner, ON. The reserve bull was JIL Thriller 40C a TR MR Firewater 5792R son exhibited by Future Farms, Red Deer County.
