Joe Doll of Doll Charolais and Simmental, New Salem, ND passed away October 3rd at the age of 92. Having celebrated 70 years of marriage, he is survived by his wife Helen and sons Charles, Harlen & David who are all involved in the operation along with their wives and children. The Doll family have been in the Charolais business for 50 years and have been to Canada many times purchasing genetics.

OLN Hot Dam 14C sired by JIL Thunder Roll 69Z from Daines Cattle and O’Neill Livestock, Innisfail was named Grand Champion Female at the Olds Fall Classic (A BOSS Show) September 30. Judge Murray Andrews, Moose Jaw then selected CML Dezirae 558C sired by CML Distinction 318A from McLeod Livestock, Cochrane as the Reserve Champion Female. HRJ Crowd Favourite 515C a son of Sparrows Kingston 139Y from Johnson Charolais, Barrhead, was selected Grand Champion Bull. Johnson Charolais also had the Reserve Champion Bull with HRJ Doctor Jones 612D sired buy Sparrows Kingston 139Y.
A Charolais sired steer from Flat Top Cattle Co., Tyler and Suzanne Smyth, Herbert won Grand Champion Steer at the SouthWest Classic Prospect open steer show, September 24th at the Young Ranchman’s All breeds junior Show in Swift Current, SK. They took home $1,900 in prize money and then sold the steer by bid board before leaving the show.

Becks Tassel 34C, sired by Stepplers Orch 34A and exhibited by Mason Beck, Milestone was Grand Champion of the Charolais division of the Young Ranchman’s Show, September 24th in Swift Current, SK. MCL Pld Duchess 8124D, sired by Winn Mans Big Rig 639Y and exhibited by Madison Petracek, Whitewood was the Reserve Grand Champion.

CRG Barely Legal 69B, sired by TR PZC Mr Turton 0794 ET and her LT Ledger 0332 P bull calf at side from Oattes Cattle, Cobden was named Grand Champion Female of the Lindsay (ON) Exhibition Charolais BOSS Show, September 23rd. Judge Emily Griffith from Indiana then chose BF Cinderella Z 14C, sired by D R Revelation 467 as her Reserve Grand Champion Female of this 70 entry show. Sharodon Double Vision 1D, sired by Cedardale Zeal 125Z from Sharodon Farms, Omemee was the Grand Champion Bull while Echo Springs Date Night 14D by Cedardale Winchester 70W was the Reserve Grand Champion Bull.
