Steppler Farms exhibited the Supreme Champion Female at the Harding Fair in Harding, MB. Sparrows Mirabella 385M, an LT Rushmore 8060 PLD daughter, with calf at side Steppler Louis Varland 71P, a Sparrows Costanza 440M son, is now qualified for the CN Beef Supreme at Canadian Western Agribition.

Coughlin/Honey Win CCYA Show
Dallas Coughlin (ON) had Champion Bull Calf at the 2026 Canadian Charolais Youth Association Conference and Show, July 18th in Carp, ON with Cornerview Pilot 13P by RBM Keystone H41. Open Gate Pops 41P, sired by Trezegoal exhibited by Lily Bouffard (QC) was selected as the Reserve Champion Bull Calf. 

Judge Aaron Grant, Olds (AB) then chose MISS Prairie Cove 568N by WC Milestone 5223 P exhibited by Emily Honey (ON) as his Grand Champion Female. CRG Got It Goin’On 27N by PCC Bourban 118J exhibited by Samantha Hamilton (ON) won Reserve Grand Champion honours. 

McLean Wins Gladys 4-H
Roy McLean won Grand Champion Market Steer at the Gladys, AB 4H Beef Show and sale May 27th at the High River Ag Society. Roy’s Charolais cross steer Jose weighed 1635 lbs with an average rate of gain of 3.75 lbs a day. Jose was purchased by Ward Tire, High River, AB.

Reid Hunter and his Charolais Composite heifer KayR Winnie were named Grand Champion Heifer at the Western Elite Bred Heifer Invitational at the Calgary Stampede on July 12. Judges were Jared and Bailey Boyert of Pleasantville, IA.

Katie Kolenosky showed her heifer at the Western Elite Bred Heifer Invitational at the Calgary Stampede on July 12. This heifer was a 4 time qualifier for the show by winning several jackpots across Western Canada. SVY Elsa 550N was named Reserve Champion Female by judges Jared and Bailey Boyert, Pleasantville, IA.

Katie Kolenosky was named Supreme Champion Female this past weekend at the Border City Showdown in Lloydminster with her heifer SVY Elsa 550N. The BOY Outlier 812 ET PLD daughter is now qualified the Farm Fair International Supreme in Edmonton this November.

Char steer wins Melfort 4H
Dane Nielsen exhibited his steer at the Melfort 4H Regional Show where he was named Grand Champion Steer with his Charolais sired calf weighing 1590lbs. The show was judged by John Hogberg of Langenburg, SK. Melfort 4-H Regional beef show is the largest in Saskatchewan with 238 head of cattle and 134 members participating.
Alexander (Bud) King Passes
Alexander (Bud) King of Rocanville, Saskatchewan was the founder of King’s Polled Charolais in the late 70’s and was involved in the SE Sask Breeders Group. He was the beloved husband of Phyllis King, father of Faith (Rob), Aldyn, Randy (Cherie) and Joy (Terry). He passed peacefully at the Southeast Integrated Care Center at Moosomin, SK on June 27th at 89 years old.
Visitation will be held at Carscadden Funeral Chapel, 614 Birtle St, Moosomin, SK., on Friday July 10th from 6-8:00pm. A celebration of life will be held at Rocanville Pentecostal Church, 1006 Railway Ave, Rocanville, SK., on Saturday, July 11, 2026 at 2:00pm. Interment to follow at Webster Cemetery. Donations in memory of Bud may be made to a charity of your choice.
Matthew Howe had Reserve Champion Steer with his 1596 lb. Charolais cross steer. He sold for $7.80/lb to Kenbrook Trucking. Matthew also had Reserve Champion Female with HKS Ms Lois 43L with calf at side HKS Ms Lois 80P. Judges were Mac & Shelby Oberle.
