Farah Steacy, Landsdowne won Champion Heifer at the Ontario Charolais Association AGM Junior Show, August 16th, Cobden, ON with JKC Miss Firefly 85M a G.BROS Fernando 1309J daughter. Dallas Coughlin won Reserve Champion Heifer and Champion Bred & Owned with Cornerview Nakita 16N by RBM Keystone H41. Nate Latchford judged the show.
Kurtis Black, Haley Station was elected president of the Ontario Charolais Association at their Annual General Meeting, August 16th at Cornerview Charolais, Cobden. Eric Doran, Tweed was elected 1st Vice-President and Ryan Briggs, Oro-Medonte was elected 2nd Vice-President. Ashley Baker, Hastings continues in the Secretary/Treasurer duties. Dorothy Phyllis Seater (née Skinner), born in Brandon, Manitoba, in 1939, passed away suddenly in Osoyoos, BC, on June 14, 2025, at the age of 86. A spirited and adventurous woman, Dorothy lived and worked across Canada and Bermuda before settling in Rivers, MB, where she and her husband Edmund ran the Ed-C-Dor Charolais Farms. She was known for her boundless energy, love of entertaining, and entrepreneurial flair—from hosting horse events to traveling southern Manitoba with her Balancemobile. Dorothy leaves behind a large and loving family, countless friends, and a legacy of warmth, faith, and zest for life.
Sloane Hertz captured the Reserve Champion Female banner at the Young Ranchman’s Show over the Labour Day weekend in Swift Current. Sloane exhibited Six Mile Empress 813L with calf at side Six Mile Emperor 365N. Judges were Riley & Madison Lafrentz.
Tyler Burgomaster, Omemee, ON exhibited the Grand Champion Beef Heifer at the Kawartha Lakes Haliburton 4H Fair with Sunrise Melody 9M a SVY Mayfield 30H daughter. Tyler also won Reserve Grand Champion Beef Showman. The 30 head show was judged by Laura Naismirh, Arnprior, ON.
Marilyn Nykoliation passed away July 28, 2025 at the age of 83 years in Elkhorn, MB. A Graveside Funeral Service was held Tuesday, August 5, 2025 at Breadlabane Cemetery, Lenore, Manitoba. Marilyn and her husband Leonard operated under Beaver Creek Charolais until the dispersal in December of 2013. 
NIER Never Back Down 2N (sired by DCR Blueprint J7) was Champion Bull Calf and later named Supreme Champion Bull at Dawson Creek Exhibition. This bull is now qualified for the CN Beef Supreme at Agribition. Owned by NIER Charolais & Sarah Wipf, Crossfield, AB.
Longview Prosper 6L was Supreme Champion Bull at the Prince Albert Exhibition. He is now qualified for the Agribition Supreme presented by CN in November. Owned by Longview Cattle Co, Grenfell, SK.
