62nd Annual SCA AGM

The Saskatchewan Charolais Association Board of Directors held their 62nd Annual General Meeting on June 13th at the Dakota Dunes Casino. Dale Weinbender, Canora, SK is staying on as president, 1st Vice-President remains Justin Cay, Kinistino and Scott Sunderland, Saint Front continues as 2nd Vice-President. Sarah Hordos retains her job as Secretary-Treasurer. Michelle Bomok and Emily Schick were newly elected to the board of directors. Howe Re-Elected Chairman of the FCCF Board

Friends of the Canadian Charolais Association had their Annual General Meeting June 13th in Quebec City, QC. Kelly Howe, Moose Jaw, SK was re-elected Chairman; Mark Frost, Kingsey Falls, QC was elected Vice-Chairman; Jeralyn Rasmussen, Innisfail, AB Secretary-Treasurer and Keith Black, Foresters Falls, ON, President. The rest of the board are Mike Elder, Coronach, SK; Dwein Trask, Saskatoon, SK and Donna Courchesne, Shawville, QC. Following the CCA Presidents Dinner the 4th Annual FCCF Fundraising Auction was a great success with 27 lots raising over $36,000. See the August Charolais Banner for more information.

Nesbitt Elected President of the CCA Board

Ryan Nesbitt, Nestleton, ON was elected President of the Canadian Charolais Association at their Annual General Meeting held June 13th, 2025 in Quebec City, QC. Josh Taylor, Dunsford, ON was elected as 1st Vice-President; Dennis Serhienko, Maymont, SK 2nd Vice-President and Shawn Airey, Rivers, MB continues as Past-President. Rounding out the board of directors are Rod McLeod, Rockyview County, AB; Josh Redden, Windsor, NS; Darwin Rosso, Moose Jaw, SK; Armand Roy, St-Bernard Lacolle, QC; Michael Hunter, Roblin, MB; Travis Foot, Esther, AB and Kyle O’Neill, Red Deer County, AB with Craig Scott being the General Manager. Charolais wins JAS Classic

Indy Fowler, Bashaw, AB won Grand Champion Open Female at the May 24th Josephburg (AB) Ag Society Classic with Miss Prairie Cove 417M, a WCR Bold Move 168 P daughter. The show was judged by Reese & Jill Wildman.

Former CCA President Passes

Jerrold Delahey, Chardel Charolais, Moose Jaw, SK passed away May 19th, 2025 at the age of 89. Jerrold and his wife Barb started their purebred herd known as Chardel Charolais. They spent 30 years showing cattle across western Canada. During those years Jerrold served as President of the Canadian Charolais Association. Funeral arrangements to be announced at a later date.
