7 Quarter Circle/Legacy/Springside win the ACA Pair of Bulls Show

The Champion Pair of Bulls at the Alberta Charolais Select Show and Sale, December 14th in Red Deer, AB were two sons of RRMM Yellowstone 2J, exhibited by 7 Quarter Circle Charolais, Czar. The Reserve Pair of Bulls were a son of JWX King Maker 5418K and a son of LAE Johnny Walker 160J, from Legacy Charolais, Botha. The show was judged by Derek Dekeyser, Colborne, ON; Brian Hawkins, Hodgeville, SK and Penny Havens, Madden.

The Champion Pair of Two-Year Old Bulls were two sons of PCC Bourbon 118J, exhibited by Springside Cattle Co., Airdrie.

HEJ/Legacy Win the ACA Single Bull Show

HEJ Manchester 11M, a January 1st son of CFC Custom 16K, from HEJ Charolais, Innisfail was chosen as this years Peoples Choice  Champion at the Alberta Select Single Bull Show, December 13th, Red Deer, AB. The Reserve Champion Bull of this 20 entry show was Legacys Capstone 132M, a February 17th son of LAE Johnny Walker 150J, shown by Legacy Charolais, Botha.

Panasiuk Elected President of ACA

Mike Panasiuk, Airdrie was elected President of the Alberta Charolais Association at their annual meeting held December 13 in Red Deer, AB. Jill Harvie, Olds was elected 1st Vice-President with Scott Anderson, Minburn selected as the 2nd Vice-President. Breeder of the year went to Springside Cattle Co., Airdrie. Keith Quinton, Cardston received the Pioneer Award. The AGM is held in conjunction with the Alberta Select.

Former Saskatchewan Charolais Breeder Passes

 

Ken Qualman formerly of Dundurn, SK passed away Friday, December 6th at the age of 85. Ken and his wife Lorraine were Qualman Charolais for 40 years starting in the early 1970s. They were founding members of the Hub Charolais Breeders group and participated in the annual female sale in Saskatoon. Ken was a barn boss at Agribition for many years and served on the Saskatchewan Charolais Association Board of Directors for a few terms. In 2002 they were awarded the SCA Honour Scroll.A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, December 15, 2024 at 11:00am at Mourning Glory-Acadia McKague’s Funeral Chapel. Burial to follow at Pleasant Point Cemetery.

CJL/Valley’s End Win Pen Show

CJL Livestock, Radville exhibited the Champion Pen of Charolais Bulls with two sired by Turnbull’s Knockin Boots 604K and one by Balamore Justice 126J. The Reserve Champion Charolais Pen of Bulls was two sired by LAE Huckleberry 8H and one by Pleasantdawn Mobile 103F, exhibited by Valley’s End Charolais, Central Butte. The Pen Show was held November 30th in Regina in conjunction with the Canadian Western Agribition.
