The Lloydminster (SK) Stockade Charolais BOSS Show was held October 31st and judged by Chad Wilson, Wawota, SK. Grand Champion Female of this 38 entry BOSS Show was SOS Beryle Pld 811K, sired by BRCHE White Bear 8505 Pld ET and her calf sired by PCC Cobain 231K, exhibited by Sherwood Farms, Vermillion, Circle Cee Charolais, Lamont and Springside Cattle Corp, Airdrie. Reserve Champion Female was Justamere Priscilla 221M, sired by SVY Counter Point 222K, exhibited by Justamere Farms, Lloydminster. Bar SK Cattle Company, Lloydminster exhibited the Grand Champion Bull BAR SK Strikeout 310L, sired by M&M Outsider 4003 Pld ET. Reserve Champion Bull was KAYR Tremor 7015L, sired by RBM Keystone H41, exhibited by Kay-R Charolais, Waskatenau.

Miss Prairie Cove 204K, sired by CCC WC Redemption 7143 Pld ET and her heifer calf by WCR Bold Move 168 P from Prairie Cove Charolais, Bashaw was selected Grand Champion Female of the Olds (AB) Fall Classic Charolais (BOSS) Show, October 5. Judges Vern & Riley Lafrentz, Bienfit, SK then chose Harvie MS Molson 19M, sired by SOS Jackpot Pld 158J, from Harvie Ranching, Olds as their Reserve Grand Champion Female of this 35 entry show. Grand Champion Bull was SVY Verified 202K, sired by SVY Trust 6H, from Blanchette Ranch Ltd., Edam, SK. Reserve Grand Champion Bull was RRMM Twister 26M, sired by RRMM Yellowstone 2J, from 7 Quarter Circle Charolais, Czar.

Declan Sargent, Mirror and his steer Willis won Reserve Champion Steer at the May 27th, 2024 Lacombe and District 4-H Show and Sale. Willis was also selected as the Reserve Champion Home Grown Steer and Reserve Champion Steer of the Nebraska 4-H Multi Club. Willis weighed 1515 lb and was purchased by Sterling Industries Inc., Blackfalds for $6.70/lb. The shows were judged by Scott Anderson, Sylvan Lake and Jay Good, Brooks.

GW Murray of the Tilley 4-H Beef Club won Grand Champion Steer at the Newell District 4-H Show and Sale. GW’s 1,595 lb steer Bob, was purchased by Hillside Excavating Inc. for $6.80/lb. The 70 head steer show was judged by Blaine Brost, Irvine.
Navada Murray’s Charcross steer was selected as the Reserve Champion Steer at the Newell District 4-H Show and Sale. Navada’s steer Rooster weighed 1,560 lb and was purchased by Bohrson Marketing Services Ltd, Olds for $6.60/lb.

Jessie Weeks, Castor, AB won Reserve Champion Female at the Coronation District 4-H Show with TAC Judith 6J sired by Pro-Char Resistol 57D and her TAC Melissa 39M heifer calf at side. Jessie also exhibited the Grand Champion Herd. The June 4th show was judged by Bill Dietrich, Forestburg.

Abigail Tilleman, Crossfield, AB won Grand Champion Purebred Mature Pair with NIER Jolene 1J sired by WC Milestone 5223 P and her heifer calf  NIER Miss Moly 2M at the May 31, 2024 4-H On Parade Regional Show held in Calgary, AB judged by Mary Kate Robertson and Alvin Pawlitza. They were also selected as Reserve Champion Mature Pair at the Taber 4-H Spring Invitational, Crossfield-Madden 4-H Beef Achievement Day and the May 25th Clover Community Classic, Olds.

   NIER Karaoke 1K by WC Milestone 5223 P and her NIER Magic Carpet Ride 3M Bull calf at side won Reserve Champion Two-Year Old Pair at the May 20th Crossfield- Madden 4-H Beef Achievement Day, exhibited by Abigail Tilleman. The show was judged by Dave Sibbald. NIER Lady 1L sired by WDZ Warroad 906 was selected as the Reserve Champion Yearling Heifer at both the Crossfield-Madden 4-H Achievement Day and 4-H on Parade. Abigail also won Reserve Champion Breeders Herd at the Crossfield-Madden 4-H Beef Achievement Day, Clover Community Classic and 4-H on Parade.

A Full French sired Charcross steer shown by Connor King, Dapp AB was selected as Grand Champion Steer at the Westlock and District 4-H show. The 48 head steer show was judged by Leah Jones. Connor’s steer Dwayne weighed 1574 lb and sold for $5.60/lb to Carl’s Tirecraft, Westlock.

Denim Parsons, Tees, AB of the Nebraska 4-H club won Grand Champion Steer at the May 27th Lacombe & District show and sale. Denim’s 1365 lb steer was purchased by Thermopro Insulation for $3.60/lb. The show was judged by Scott Anderson, Sylvan Lake.

Doug Winsnes’s Charolais steer was selected as Reserve Grand Champion Steer at the April 27, 2024 Holden (AB) 4-H Achievement Day. Doug’s steer Mr. Meier weighed 1375 lb and was purchased by SMB Farms, Tofield. The 12 entry steer show was judged by Grace Christensen, Lampman, SK.
